Bullet resistance is a wall system, not a door. A UL 752 Level 3 door in a drywall wall is a strong door in a weak wall.

For a ballistic safe room, executive office, or storefront, we design the whole envelope: fiberglass ballistic panels inside the walls, a rated door and frame, rated glazing where a window has to stay, and the details at the corners and the floor where systems fail. Materials come from a Texas manufacturer that has built bullet-, blast-, and forced-entry-resistant products since 1980, rated to UL 752 Levels 1 through 8 as reported by the manufacturer.

Levels mean specific rounds: Level 3 covers .44 Magnum handgun rounds; Level 8 covers 7.62 rifle rounds, five shots. We specify the level to the threat you describe, never higher than you need, and no lower than the wall can support.
